Saturday in Hackensack

I had a conversation with my son, Chris, yesterday about my web site. This thing so confuses me. I guess it is all about selling my book or as Chris says, selling myself. It is hard work and I am constantly forgetting how to do tasks even after I think I have learned how to do them. I even write instructions down and still have trouble later doing tasks on my own. I told Chris that I think it is because I really don’t understand how it all works. I know the better mechanics are those who truly understand how cars work.

This is what I learned yesterday: On my web page, make simple announcements and give reference to links or my blog for more info.

To catch you up (and I just know you are all curious as can be), my next book selling event will be this coming Saturday in Hackensack MN where I will be participating in the Northwoods Arts and Book Festival. It is different than the opportunities I have had so far because folks attending will be readers interested in stocking their book shelves. In addition, I will be sitting among other writers who have been treading this path before me. I look forward to receiving lots of advice and taking many notes.

No matter the occasion, I am finding that schmoozing with people is fun. All are children of God, like myself, each one interesting, each one a light.

I hope to see some of you in Hackensack this Saturday. Here is the info:

Thanks, Nancy. Let me know if there are ever opportunities down your way. I will be doing a reading and book signing at a book store in Alexandria, MN. It will be a good opportunity for me to learn how to work with book stores. A woman I went to Israel with wants me to come to her home to present to friends some time in October. I am excited to see how that goes. Two venues I want to try is church groups and book study groups. This is truly a new and exciting adventure for me. Bernie is on board with me. He manages the money part and can do charge cards on his phone. I like having him especially when events are a considerable distance. I like driving but not in cities and not for more than a couple of hours at a time.
