Cryptograms

A while back I wrote about my passion for cryptograms. I thought today I’d look through a book of them that I am yet trying to complete for some of the more interesting sayings:

“It is because nations tend to stupidity and baseness that mankind moves so slowly. It is because individuals have a capacity for better things that it moves at all.” George Gissing.

“Women’s liberation will not have been achieved until a woman can become paunchy and bald and still think she’s attractive to the opposite sex.” Earl Wilson

“Love is much nicer to be in than automobile accidents, a tight girdle, a higher tax bracket, or a holding pattern over Philadelphia.” Judith Voist

“There’s a planet named Pluto. But we don’t have one named Goofy. Goofy would be a good name for this planet. It certainly qualifies.” George Carlin

I find that a great part of the information I have was acquired by looking up something and finding something else on the way.” Franklin P. Adams

“Is fuel efficiency really what we need most desperately? I say what we really need is a car that can be shot when it breaks down.” Russel Raker

Just to lighten your day…
