Leap Year

It feels good to be on schedule again. Now our calendar has caught up with God’s creation. I wonder who it was that came up with the idea of adding an extra day to the calendar every four years. My understanding is that the planetary and solar cycles and the seasons these effect repeat themselves approximately every 365 1/4 days. Had the extra day not been added, over time, our seasons would totally shift. Think about it. If we never had added the extra day to the year, spring would back up on the calendar by 1/4 day each year as would summer, autumn and winter. Every four years, seasons would be starting a whole day earlier. Every forty years, they would begin 10 days earlier. In 120 years, the seasons would shift a whole month. On and on it would go until Minnesotans would be skiing in summer and swimming in the winter.
