Rachel’s Attitude of Gratitude

I have a niece who was been reporting on Facebook how she was following a plan to express gratitude for something every day for 40 days. She is a new mother of an adorable baby boy and a three-year-old sister. It was fun to read what she wrote about her sweet family. I think that the point of such an exercise is to create an “attitude of gratitude” which is a phrase that I hear a lot. I think that such an attitude can change one’s life. But there is another piece to developing an attitude of gratitude and that is beginning to have gratitude for the uncomfortable things that happen in our lives, the interruptions, the troublesome relationship, or the illness that afflicts us. This is where spirituality really hits the hard road. I pray for my niece. I am so excited that she has that kind of spirituality.
