I was pleased yesterday to finish washing the cabin windows. It is a very satisfying job. In the woods, windows get really dirty and inabited by webs. The spiders are really busy around here and I don’t want to discourage them from catching all those mosquitoes. I don’t kill them. They see me coming with my brush and scurry aside or squeeze themselves into the little crevace between the window sash and the casing. True, I destroy their weavings, but I know they will rebuild in no time. I just can’t stand the feel of their sticky strings against my skin.
This morning we ate pancakes and sausage with family. We are using store bought syrup for the first time in years, thanks to the warm winter in Minnesota. Some family members are still sleeping. That is how it goes when you sit around a campfire late and night eating s’mores.
