Came across this cleaning out my memento box in the basement:
A Friend
A friend is one to whom
one may pour out
all the contents
of one’s heart…
chaff and grain together…
knowing that
the Gentlest of hands
will take and sift it,
Keep what is
worth keeping,
and with the Breath of
kindness blow the rest away.
…Arabian Proverb
I wish I had recorded who had given it to me.
Lovely. I’ve been so blessed to have some lifelong loyal and trustworthy friends also. And I’ve made many new ones in England. My faith, my friends, and my family are what gives me strength to persevere. We can never have enough friends. Right? Thanks for sharing the poem. I will pass it on.
